Today, Sunday 18 May 2008, is THE day to buy British newspaper The Mail on Sunday. Why? As I reported almost two weeks ago, Paul McCartney’s latest album, Memory Almost Full, is free with your copy. As a teaser, here’s a short video of Paul showing how he came up with one of the tracks.
Do […]

Yesterday is often cited as the most covered song in the history of popular music. While that title may be in dispute, some sources claim there are over 3000 recorded versions. Here is just one. Elvis Presley, singing Yesterday in a 1970 rehearsal. What do you think?

While Paul McCartney was the only member of The Beatles to be heard on the recording of “Yesterday”, the whole band played it in concert. Here’s footage from a Tokyo concert in 1966.

In January, former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr was interviewed on the Friday Night with Jonathan Ross show (see video above). When asked what he misses about Liverpool, he said that he misses nothing. Some in Liverpool apparently didn’t get the joke. He’s been attacked in the local press and in Liverpool-themed websites. A shrub sculpture […]

This guy has several similar videos on Youtube. Original Beatles tracks play as he acts like two members of The Beatles side-by-side. In this one he’s a bitter John Lennon singing to an indifferent Paul McCartney. I think the mannerisms are almost spot-on and the costumes are perfect. Your thoughts?

This video takes a look at the bitter rivalry between John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The constant attempts to outdo eachother made for some great songwriting, but it ultimately tore The Beatles apart.
How about sharing your thoughts in a comment?

I’ve Just Seen a Face, the fifth track on Side Two of “Help!” is a fun, fast-paced Paul McCartney tune.
The instrumentation is slightly unusual for The Beatles; there is no bass or electric guitars and very little drums. Instead, George Harrison plays a 12-string acoustic guitar, John Lennon and Paul each play a standard acoustic, and Ringo Starr shakes the maracas […]

According to The Daily Mail, Yoko Ono is in court, battling to block the release of a documentary that includes footage of her dead husband, Beatles guitarist John Lennon smoking pot, writing Mind Games, and rehearsing Instant Karma. Apparently she has no problem with the content of the film, aside from claiming that it is […]

I don’t know why, but here it is. The Beatles sitting around, eating fish and chips with their greasy hands. And George Harrison on an exercise bike to boot. Weird stuff. Nice music though.
