In 1964, John Lennon acquired a plethora of guitars. One hidden gem was a German-made 12-string Hootenanny by Framus Guitars. Purchased for £42, the guitar was used on several tracks including “Help!”, “It’s Only Love”, and “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away” (see video below).

I have a Hofner 12-string Hootnanny guitar purchased in Wrexham just before Christmas 1965 to console a broken engagement. Cost £45.00-lovely tone, needs adjustment to action.
