John Lennon’s Monkey Bike Sold at Auction
A 1970 model Honda 160Z monkey bike, which was once owned by Beatles guitarist John Lennon, was sold at auction on Wednesday for £36,000.
John originally purchased the low-powered motorcycle as a fun way of getting around his hundred-acre Tittenhurst Park estate in Ascot, England. Beatles drummer Ringo Starr purchased the bike along with the estate in 1973 after John and Yoko Ono moved to New York. Ringo later gave the bike to his landscape gardener as a gift, and it was the gardener who put the bike up for auction at Bonhams in London.
That’s a pricey piece of memorabilia.
