The Beatles: The Next Generation
Yesterday’s post about James McCartney gave me the idea to do a post about all the children of The Beatles. So here you go:
John had two sons. Julian (born John Charles Julian Lennon to first wife Cynthia), was born on 8 April 1963 in Liverpool. He is a successful musician and songwriter. He had four top 10 US hit singles in the 1980s and has also done some film. He was the voice of the title character in the 1993 animated film "David Copperfield". Half-brother Sean (born Sean Taro Ono Lennon to second wife Yoko Ono), was born 9 October 1975 in New York City. He is also a musician and music producer.
Paul has three children with first wife Linda Eastman. Mary Anna McCartney-Donald (born 28 August 1969 in London) is an accomplished photographer and photo editor and is active in campaigns for breast cancer awareness. She has two children of her own: Arthur and Elliot Donald. Stella Nina McCartney (born 13 September 1971 in London) is an award-winning fashion designer who has worked with Chloé and Gucci. She also has a line of perfumes and skin-care products and is a vocal supporter of PETA. James Louis McCartney (born 12 September 1977 in London) is a musician and artist who has mostly opted to stay out of the limelight, though is now reported to be working towards releasing an album. Paul also adopted Linda’s first child Heather Louise McCartney, an acclaimed potter and designer. Paul has a much younger daughter Beatrice Milly McCartney, bor 28 October 2003 to second wife Heather Mills.
George had only one son, Dhani. Born 1 August 1978 in Windsor to George’s second wife Olivia Harrison, he is a songwriter and guitar player. After his father’s death, Dhani completed George’s final album and played in a memorial concert organised by Eric Clapton and featuring many of his father’s famous friends.
Ringo has three children with first wife Maureen Cox. Zak Starkey (born 13 September 1965 in London) is a well-regarded drummer who has toured with The Who and Oasis (who asked him to become their official drummer). Jason (born 19 August 1967 in London) is a less-successful drummer and a road manager. He prefers to remain out of the lime-light, but has been arrested multiple times for drugs and once for stealing a car. Jason has a son Louie. Daughter Lee Parkin Starkey (born 17 November 1970 in London) has worked in fashion and make up. She spent most of 1994 caring for her mother, who died of leukaemia. Lee herself has been treated repeatedly for brain cancer. She also prefers her privacy.

2 opinions for The Beatles: The Next Generation

John had a professional Guitar stripper that re-stripped his Epiphone Casino after the Beatle days. If you look at the film “Let it be” you can see the strip job that he did on his guitar, A pretty poor job ( he was a songwriter/musician not a pro. guitar refinisher ) Matter of fact you can still see the dark finish in the wood patterns on the under the neck side of the guitar. On the final product the finish is a well done professional level job. I’ve seen his original Casino from less than 2 feet away in Japan ( the John Lennon Museum ). And the finish now the same as the re-issue’s Epiphone is putting out as the Lennon “revolution” limited edition. By the way this is the first time this has been recorded. So you guys got a scoop! LOL

Peter,
Thanks for your scoop. I’m currently writing a whole series on John Lennon’s guitars. I haven’t gotten up to the Epiphone Casino just yet, still about five guitars away. But you can see the earlier entries in the series here:
