This (4th) Week in Beatles History
July 22 - 1963. Vee-Jay records misses its scheduled release date for "Introducting… The Beatles". Finally released in January 1964, it was the first Beatles album available in the US.
July 23 - 1965. "Help!" / "I’m Down" single released in the UK.
July 24 - 1967. The Times of London publishes an advertisement signed by The Beatles and other celebrities, calling for the legalization of marijuana.
July 25 - 1964. "A Hard Day’s Night" becomes the #1 LP in the UK.
July 26 - 1968. John and Paul complete "Hey Jude" track at Paul’s home studio.
July 27 - 1964. Brian Epstein named one of 10 best dressed men in UK.
July 28 - 1965. "Help!" becomes the #1 single in the UK.
