This (7th) Week in Beatles Sightings

The Age, an Australian newspaper, printed a new interview with Ringo this week. Apparently, EMI contacted all reporters beforehand, with a "friendly reminder that this is an interview for Ringo Starr’s Best Of album and not the Beatles". When the reporters did not comply, Ringo tried to play EMI’s game:
"Well, they were my hits. In the ’70s I was trying to find my feet. I had just finished with that band I was in …" - Ringo
One has to wonder if it was EMI’s idea or Ringo’s to make that hopeless request.
