Track - “I’ll Cry Instead”
"I’ll Cry Instead" was written for the "break-out" scene of "A Hard Day’s Night" but left out of the movie when director Richard Lester preferred the more exciting "Can’t Buy Me Love". There is no vocal harmony. The song shows country influences with John’s lyrics exhibiting sadness and frustration.

The song was released as a single in the US (backed by "I’m Happy Just to Dance with You", reaching #25 on the charts) and other countries, but not in the UK.
